Where to begin?
What a couple of days it has been. Yesterday all kinds of out of the ordinary things were happening...some scary. Ava totally fell down the stairs. I was laying Nate in the crib and had told her to go on down. She ran out of the room with a book in her hand, and although I didn't witness the fall, I heard the terrible thuds and her sudden wail. I ran out and found her more than half way down flat on her back on one of the wider steps. It's one of those times that takes a parent's breath away. Thankfully, she was okay...only cried a couple of minutes, and then was back to playing happily. We also had a sippy cup in the toilet incident yesterday, and this morning Nate said his first word! Cat. Which is so weird, because that was also Ava's first word and right around the same age as well. Apparently the cat is an awesome presence in the lives of our kids. Nate doesn't say it quite as well as she did. She got the "t" sound on the end, but his lacks that. I know that is what he is saying though because he looks right at the cat while saying it and has a big goofy grin on his face. So now the verbal communication begins. How amazing!
