I'm Back

I know, it's been over a week since I blogged- and I'll get into why at a later date. For now, I just watched the opening of the NBA Finals Game 5. It has been interesting to me that the entertainers chosen to perform the National Anthem during this series have been lesser known, dare I say "B-list" performers. This is a hugely televised and popular event! You would think someone pretty famous would be interested in the gig. Well, tonight they actually had a saxophone player perform the Anthem which I thought was a strange choice. I have never heard the Anthem via instrument instead of singing voice before an important sporting event. Obviously, half the meaning and power of our Anthem is in the lyrics, so I felt this rendition came up empty. Not a good choice, in my opinion.
