I wrote about Nate's favorite sleeping friend- his stuffed dog. What I neglected to mention is that he sleeps with two other special items also. Yes, we have done a very stupid thing and allowed Nate to get attached to THREE items, all of which are needed for a restful night's sleep. We should have learned our lesson after three and a half years of Ava toting her precious blankie everywhere. The difference is- Ava needs her blankie at various times throughout the day and night. Nate only wants his three special items when he is in his crib preparing for sleep. So, it could be worse.
He sleeps with a super soft afghan made from terrycloth yarn by my mom's best friend Dee. He sticks his fingers into the tiny holes of the afghan and pulls at it while falling alseep. He also has a satin blankie from our dear friend Carolyn that he usually arranges so that his face is laying on top of it. And then the hand that is not pulling at the afghan is touching the stuffed dog. I don't care how many "lovies" Nate has as long as he keeps sleeping through the night like a rock as he always has. The funny thing is every time I go to get Nate out of his crib after naps or in the morning, he wants to take all three items with him. So he grabs them up until his arms are completely full and I lift him and carry him downstairs. There, he dumps the things onto the floor or couch never to touch them again until I round them all up for his next sleep.

How funny! I did not know there were 3 things now. The dog is the newest as I don't think you have brought it over here. Would like to see him trying to carry all of that at one time--and guess I will some time. But I am all for whatever comforts him and he seems to be an expert at getting himself to sleep! Wonder how long he will be attached to all 3 of them!
