I'm awake. I'm afraid to lay down because:
a. this awful cough will kick back in
b. my mind is so awake I don't think I can fall asleep anyway
You may be wondering why I am up at this crazy hour. It happens sometimes for a couple of different reasons. Sometimes I just wake up because I have to go to the bathroom, or my body wakes me up for some unknown reason (this happens to pregnant women especially) and I have trouble falling back to sleep. Sometimes one of the kids wakes me up, and again, I have trouble falling back to sleep. That is the case tonight. Poor Ava was crying out from her room. She was very upset. I ran in and she was not crying out anymore, but laying awake in her bed. She said she had a bad dream and she wanted to tell me what it was. I sent her to my bed while I placed Nate back under the covers. When I went in to her, she was laying in my bed all curled up. I sat beside her stroking her back and asked if she wanted to tell me the bad dream. In a small whisper she said, "A giant was eating me." She doesn't usually have bad dreams, so I was a bit shocked to hear about such a terrible thing. I assured her it was only a dream and that she is safe with Mama and Daddy and especially because God is taking care of her, too. I guess I better try to go to sleep now. It's a long day tomorrow.

One thing for your cough that helps me more than lozenges & medicine was to drink a hot mug of peppermint tea. I always buy the Celestial Seasonings Peppermint Tea, warm it up, stir in some honey to sweeten & it's delicious! It really helps soothe my sore throat & a nagging cough. I know it's only a temporary solution, but at 3:30 in the morning, it really does help!
AND... I even got Sammy to try it for his acid reflux issues. He says it really helped him out.
Hope you feel better soon!
