Raising Her Right...
This is the Barbie doll Ava got (along with many other gifts) at Cody's company Christmas party Friday night. She has never had a Barbie before. Neither of us is used to the tiny little shoes and purses that came with it. I just know we'll lose them, even though I gave her a plastic baggie to store them. Tonight she was playing with the Barbie and suddenly said, "Mama, her clothes are not big enough. Her shirt needs to cover her tummy." I sure hope I can preserve that attitude through the years!
More news: We sold our car today. It feels so good to be done with that. Showing the car took up a lot of time we'd rather spend doing other things. Now we need to find a mom-mobile of some kind. It looks like we're leaning toward a Honda Odyssey.
And more unrelated news: We finally bought a Christmas tree today. Cody and I went to Home Depot, our tree buying store of choice, to find the most pathetically empty lot of trees ever. They were really cleaned out, and the guy said he didn't expect any more shipments. We almost waited too late! However, there were still a few good ones left. I can't wait to get it in the house and start decorating.
More completely unrelated news: I've rediscovered how much I like Wendy's. Their dollar menu is awesome. What could be better than a sour cream and chive baked potato and a cup of chili for $2? It had been a long time since I got Wendy's, but I went there tonight to grab dinner for myself and a frosty for the kids to share (they had eaten dinner already.)

Sydney & I had the same conversation about a gift she wants... the Styling Head. She had originally picked out a BRATZ Styling Head & if you've ever seen those BRATZ dolls, then you understand why I objected. I explained to her that we don't want a doll who is showing her belly. (I didn't even mention the cleavage! I'm not ready to explain that just yet!) So, we came to a compromise on a sweet looking Barbie Styling Head. She's all covered up & is wearing very minimal makeup & looks innocent!
What's wrong with that Barbie....I dress like that all the time! :) (I'm laughing so hard I'm crying....)--Brandy
