Haunted Kitchen?
The following story is completely true. It all started several months ago when I decided that I wanted a nice looking hand soap pump dispenser for the kitchen. I bought one and it worked for a few weeks then suddenly stopped working. Because I am lazy or forgetful or both, I just unscrewed the top of it and lifted out the entire top to grab soap from the tube part if I needed to wash my hands for about two months after it broke. Knowing this was a problem, I asked for a new soap dispenser for Christmas. My mother-in-law got me a beautiful cream colored one and I was relieved my days of messy soap-grabbing were over. But, when I filled it with soap and started pumping, nothing happened. I examined the tube, and everything looked fine. I screwed the top back on and pumped some more. Still nothing. I worked on it for quite a while and finally gave up. No soap would be coming from this new dispenser. How strange, I thought, that this second dispenser would also not work. So, I decided to give the defective cream colored dispenser back to my mother-in-law so she can return it to the store. Meanwhile, I spotted an old plastic softsoap hand pump under the kitchen sink. Ah-ha! I cleaned it up and filled it with soap, satisfied that this would work fine until a new nicer looking pump could be found. Any guesses about what happened next? Right! It DID NOT WORK EITHER. I pumped and pumped and pumped to no avail. It must have worked when I put it under the sink because if it had not, I would have simply thrown it away. But it sure doesn't work now. I am getting nervous. What can this mean? I am almost afraid to bring another soap pump into the kitchen because if this happens a fourth time in a row then I might have to move. Either that or admit defeat, buy a soap dish, and start using bar soap.

Operator error? Just kidding! That's so weird!
I was going to say the same thing. :)
Life's little frustrations just to keep us on our toes. Guess you could try putting the soap in the type of dispensers you just squeeze instead of pump. If it helps any, I have a similar problem with hair spray. Seems like no matter what the brand the top gets plugged and I can't get the spray to come out. I use hot water, a straight pin, etc. and end up throwing away a half used bottle and buying a new one. So here's to a future of products working properly.
I have the same problems with soap dispensers! You would think that if you spent a good amount of money (or received a fancy one as a gift) that it would work and work forever! That is never the case. I have just kept out the huge dial refill bottle for everyone to use when they discover the pump doesn't pump.
