Time for the latest installment of "new things I've discovered that are really cool and reasonably priced." I like to get tips about products and good deals, so here are a few of my own tips.
Kohls Cares for Kids usually has some cute items for sale for $5 each. They usually are books and stuffed animals. The latest Kohls Cares for Kids item, however, is the best I've ever seen offered. Not only are they nice hardcover books of songs and drawings by my favorite children's author Sandra Boynton, but the books include a CD. I bought all three. So far, I've only listened to the Rhinocerous Tap CD, but the songs are so catchy and fun. The kids and I are enjoying listening to this CD in the car. There are also stuffed animals for sale to go along with the books, but we need a stuffed animal like we need a hole in the head. At $5 it really can't be beat.
They didn't have these when Ava or Nate were babies- Eddie Bauer quilted playpen sheets. I saw these in Target and they felt so soft and plush to the touch. They must be 100 times nicer to sleep on than regular pack and play sheets. My sweet mother-in-law bought us one for the new baby. For people who travel and use their pack and plays a lot, I can't imagine a nicer thing for baby to sleep on.
Did you know overstock.com carries books? Sometimes you can find a better deal on new books at overstock.com than Amazon.com even with overstock.com's shipping rate figured into the price. And they occasionally have shipping deals that make it even lower. It's worth a look sometimes.

I always thought playpen sheets were terrible & we very rarely used them. We used to cover the playpen cushion with a quilt or blanket to give it more comfort & softness. So, I think those quilted sheets are a GREAT idea!
Quilted sheets are a great idea. I always put a cushy blanket under the regular sheet we have - Kimber seems to enjoy that. Just the sheet is way too thin, you are right. Thanks for all the other tips - I am going to check out Kohls ASAP - I love great buys!! Thanks for always helping me out with your tips.
