Ava's 4th birthday party is tomorrow. So, I find myself spending much of today preparing for it. I've got a strawberry cake baking right now. It will be perfectly pink for her ballerina party. The presents are wrapped, in bright pink paper of course. Saturday morning I'll stop by Party City and get pink and purple balloons. I put together little pink bags with treats inside as party favors. We'll be all pinked out by the end of the day tomorrow.
I love parties. I love birthdays. I love celebrating. I love seeing my kids' faces light up. I love giving them a special day full of things designed just for their enjoyment.
Now that Ava is turning 4, there's a good chance she will remember this birthday party even into adulthood. My first memories are right around my 4th birthday. And since this is going to be a fairy tale party complete with a visit from a professional ballerina...it might just lodge in her memory. I am not sure if other parents think about this, but I am thinking that now I've got to be even more careful with what I say and do in Ava's life since from now on she's going to be able to remember it. I know I've been making an impact on her emotional, physical, and spiritual formation since day one, but from here on out the things I do might be retold in a therapist's office one day.

I've thought that same thing with mine--'Will this be the one thing they remember forever?' Brandy
I hope the party turns out to be tons of fun! post pictures!
Becky,
Hope Ava had a great party today! Hope that the rain did not interefere. Sounds like you had a very special celebration planned. She is so blessed to have such a loving mom! I know you are implanting God's love in her heart and there is no greater gift than that!
