feb. and wed.

I got to thinking last night about two words that really bug me...February and Wednesday. Why do they have to be spelled so differently than they are pronounced? Does anyone actually say the middle "r" in FebRuary? And doesn't everyone say "Wendsday"? Was there a time when they were actually pronounced as they are spelled and somehow we've gotten away from it over the centuries? I have to stop and think about how to spell these two words every single time I write them.

On a brighter note- I just found out the last Harry Potter book is due out July 21.

Sooooo excited about the last Harry Potter book (I preordered today!) although I'm really going to be sad that there's no more coming. Also, I think that July is the month that the 5th Harry Potter movie is being released.

Thanks for the Harry Potter tip - I had no idea. I am so excited as well. I may need to reread all the books to remember what they are all about before diving into this final book. :)

I've always hated saying "February", because I feel like I need to pronounce "r", but it sounds so strange when I do. And, when I don't say the "r", I don't feel like I'm saying it right.
