Nothing, Nada, Zilch

I went in for my weekly doctor appointment today and still nothing is happening. My body seems oblivious to the fact that there is a baby inside that is going to have to come out, sometime soon. The last week is always the most difficult when it comes to waiting patiently. Here I've been waiting just fine for 9 months, but we get down to the wire and I suddenly want things to happen, and happen fast! I know that labor could still start at any moment, even though my body has done nothing yet. But, it's kind of exciting to go in for your appointments and hear things like "You're 85% effaced and 3 centimeters dilated." It makes you think to yourself, wow- I'm a third of the way there and haven't even felt a single contraction. By contrast, hearing that you are closed up as tightly as a brick wall causes doubts that birth will ever occur.
