IKEA, injury, and Clue
My brother, who lives in Colorado, got to spend Saturday with us. We don't get to see him too often, and this was a last minute visit. He was on a business trip and had to drive a vehicle back to CO. He got to spend the day with us but now he has to drive the entire 13 hours to CO today. Anyway, he just got a new condo and we wanted to get him a house-warming gift. I asked him what he needed and he half jokingly said a dining room table. (Thinking that would be too expensive, I'm sure.) But I thought- why not IKEA? So we flipped through the catalog and found a table and 4 chairs for $120. Now, at this point one might be thinking it must be a piece of junk at that price. But, we went to the store and saw that it was remarkably sturdy and nice, so we got it. However, I recommend to never go to IKEA on a Saturday because it was a madhouse! Also, I really hurt myself while there. I was pushing the cart when somehow my foot hit part of the back wheel. My little toenail got completely ripped off about half way down into the toe. It was bleeding. I was in shock. It really hurt. REALLY. It still hurts. We had to pull to the side while I stopped the bleeding. (Mental note- start carrying bandaids in the diaper bag.) Anyway, after a nice dinner we stopped by Blockbuster and rented the movie Clue on my brother's recommendation. Made in 1985, and based on the board game, it is apparently a cult classic of which I was unaware. It was a good movie (lots of witty, good banter) so check it out.
