Birthday Weekend

Nate, be it ever hard to believe, is 3 years old. And he is enjoying a never-ending birthday celebration. Saturday was his party. Sunday was his actual birthday. This morning he took brownies to school and this afternoon he went to Build-A-Bear. Now, his third birthday is officially over. And his mama is left in shock wondering how 3 years could fly by so quickly.

In an email I sent to friends and family about Nate's birthday party, I wrote the following paragraph:

"I know not all of you get to be around Nate very often. So I want to just take this moment to fill you in on the characteristics he has that I enjoy most and that make him the special and unique little boy that he is. Everyone always comments about how happy and joyful Nate is. (Yeah, he has his cranky moments...several today in fact because of no nap, but most of the time he is one of the happiest kids you will ever see.) He has incredible athletic ability that is already showcased in his great balance, agility, and sports techniques. He is affectionate and rugged at the same time. He's definitely a rough and tumble boy. He comes up with thrilling stunts, mostly involving various furniture in the house, that scare me to death. But he likes to cuddle too. He laughs, a lot. He can use a computer mouse like a pro. He can sing well and knows how to write his name- I think he is pretty smart. He gives really strong hugs and sleeps like a rock. He is a great kid and Cody and I are blessed to be his parents."
