Go Mavs

Cody and I got to enjoy a Mavs game Wednesday night, thanks to some tickets from a good friend of ours. Thanks, good friend! The tickets were outstanding. Platinum level, center court, second row. We were feeling mightily spoiled. Here are some of the memorable moments of the evening:

We saw tons of spectacular, highlight-reel worthy dunks. Unfortunately, they were mostly done by the Suns players. (Side note: Better work on the "D", Mavs.)

Some of our best friends, Rachel and Casey were sitting in floor seats within view of us so we got to exchange arm gestures throughout the game which was really fun!

We got to see some cops arrest a guy sitting on the floor in front of us. I guess he was causing a disturbance of some kind. And boy he didn't go easy either. He was struggling and beating on the cops. It took 5 or 6 of them to handcuff him and basically carry him out of there. I've never seen anything like that before, except on "Cops" when flipping channels.

We watched as Terrell Owens entered the arena through the players entrance at the start of the third quarter. He was escorted all the way to the other side of the court to a seat. He bumped knuckles with a few people on the way there. They showed his face on the big screen and there was applause. He pretty much sat and text messaged during the game and left before the third quarter was even finished.

I ate a super chocolate-y delicious brownie.

Cody foretold the future as the Mavs were ahead by 1 point with about 11 seconds left in the game. He said, "They'll throw it in to Dirk who will be fouled immediately, make his 2 free throws, and then Steve Nash will attempt the 3 pointer to tie the game at the buzzer." Wow, is Cody good or what? It happened just like that, and the best part was that Nash missed, so the Mavs won. And we got free taco coupons from Taco Bueno. Mmmmmm. Taco Bueno.

I just lost my train of thought.
