Don't get me wrong...I am a big USPS fan! Usually, the postal service does an outstanding job of delivering mail.
Usually.
But about twice in my life I have received a piece of mail in one of those special postal envelopes with a see-through front and an apology letter on the back. The apology explains that the USPS delivers zillions of pieces of mail with the utmost care and attention, but every once and a while mail is damaged and they are really really sorry for any inconvenience this has caused me. One of those times was today.
Apparently, a mountain lion, or Freddy Kruger, or something got a hold of this Christmas card. The USPS did tape it back together for me..how thoughtful.
Inside, was this absolutely gorgeous card from Cody's uncle in Oregon. It's one of the most beautiful Christmas cards I've ever seen. (At least, I imagine it to be when I mentally put the three sections together.) Probably his new wife picked it out. See, he just got married this Spring and although I've never met his wife in person, I can tell that she has good taste.
They even included this sweet photo from the wedding, which is especially nice for those of us that did not get to attend Of course, it might require a tad bit of mending.

Oh my goodness!
That was a really pretty card though!! I wonder what they would do if money or a check had of been in there and was ripped like that???
It really was a pretty card. I'm not having good luck with them either. They lost a check John's mom sent us. UPS also said they've delivered 2 pkgs. that we never received. We got notice from the police yesterday that people are stealing pkgs. off porches so it could be that. Aargh!
Oh NO! Yes, that was a beautiful card---probably the prettiest we have gotten so far and ours had several pictures in it. Our envelope was kinda thick and that holly piece on the front definitely was sticking out more. Bummer that your pictures got destroyed. We can copy ours or maybe Jennifer has more. Am sure she had multiples made. carol
The strips are almost perfectly proportioned - that's weird - it does make you wonder what happened to it!
That is so strange. Sorry for the picture!
That is one of the strangest things I've seen in a long time! I really want to know what actually happened to it!
I'm not a fan of the post office. My theory is if I really want it to get there, send it another way. My son lives in El Paso, TX. Their mail is never delivered to their house. It's delivered somewhere in the neighborhood - people put it on their porch every couple of weeks. They've been to the post office and nothing has changed. I mailed a calendar to him last year on December 13. He sent me an e-mail on February 13 - that's right, TWO months later! - that it had finally arrived.
Hahahaha - sorry to laugh, but oh my goodness! That's ridiculous! I've seen quite a bit of USPS mishaps at work, so really this doesn't surprise me. That's horrible, but yes a beautiful card!
