Music Monday

Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong decade. Not only do I love music from the late 60's and the 70's, but I could have had an awesome fro. I would have been the envy of all my groovy friends. I also think bell bottoms are flattering. Not the enormous ones. The normal sized ones, though, tend to make hips and rears appear smaller. But curses on whoever invented the tapered leg. And of course, it was my luck to grow up in the 80's at the peak of tapered jean popularity (among many other major fashion mistakes). The 80's- A decade that has hardly any redeeming characteristics. Let's focus on the late 60's instead. Here is one of my all time favorite songs. It has a mellow feel, some brass instruments tossed in, a rather important and timeless moral message regarding the behavior of "Preacher's Kids", and makes me feel like running off into the woods with a cute guy (my husband of course!)

Dusty Springfield "Son-Of-A Preacher Man"

don't let the current decade deter you from a daring-do; you could STILL have an awesome fro. After all, the higher the hair, the closer to heaven.
And while you're reminiscing about 80's fashion, need I remind you about one particular hair phase which was lovingly referred to as a "rat tail"? I remember visiting you from Texas (in TN?) to find you sporting a very short hair style with a long skinny braid half way down your back (I can produce photos if need be :P ...)
