Nate's been a little under the weather today. So tonight, I was cuddling with him a bit. He was sitting on my lap, leaning back against me while clutching his blankie. We were talking about the day and enjoying each other's company when he suddenly turned to me and said,
"Mama, you're like a giant marshmallow."
Um, thanks. Just what I like to hear. I really appreciate that.
Ok, ok, so it's not that bad. I often secretly hope that I will always be a soft place for my kids to fall. I don't want to be harsh. I want them to feel safe and comfortable leaning on me literally and figuratively. But, if I'm going to be a marshmallow, then I am going to be a strawberry flavored one. Those are so good. Really.
