I was tempted to title this post "How Cool Am I?" but figured it might be considered tooting my own horn a bit much. It just so happens that I think I have great taste in music. And the proof was last Thursday when I fired up my CD player so I could rock out while cleaning the house for 8 hours straight. The kids were at the grandparents. The entire day was devoted to scrubbing, sweeping, dusting, cleaning...I was in need of loud music.
Cody and I have a 100 disc changer full of our favorite CDs. I like to hit the random button and see what comes up. And the first hour or two was filled with the best music ever. In fact, it was so good that I decided to start writing down the songs so I could blog about it. For about an hour or more, I kept track of the music that played, and here is the list:
San Francisco (The Byrds)
I Feel Lucky (Mary Chapin Carpenter)
Adia (Sarah Maclachlan)
Cinnamon Girl (Neil Young)
Wild Mountain Honey (Steve Miller Band)
several Black Crowes songs
It Ain't Me (Bob Dylan)
Jammin in Four (Blues Guitar Compilation)
Honky Tonk Woman (Rolling Stones)
Bad Company
Along Comes Mary (The Association)
Pink Floyd (not sure which song)
Hummingbird (BB King)
That is a tiny sliver of the music I heard that day. It's an eclectic mix and it reflects me perfectly. I love the random button. It usually plays just the right thing. The only problem is I've got another 20 or so CDs that I adore that aren't even in that disc changer. If they were in there, the mix would be even better.

I run my iPod on random all day long at work -- it is great to mix everything up!
That IS some good stuff. I love to hit the random on my iPod too and I love to listen to music when I clean. It helps motivate and pass the time, I think!
