One Way to Save Money

Today was picture day at Nate's preschool. And as much as it killed me...as much as it went against every fiber of my being...I dressed him in a crummy t-shirt and didn't work very hard to get all the marker stains off his face and hands. Some mothers are probably shaking their heads right now. But the thing is, those school pictures are expensive. They cost way more than the photos I have made at JC Penney every year. But, my kids are so dang cute that I end up having to buy the school pictures because I just can't turn down the adorable photos presented to me. So this year I took a proactive approach. I figure if he has marker on his face and is wearing an old t-shirt then I won't even be tempted to pay a ton of money for these pictures. Besides, he's only 2 months away from getting his 4 year old pictures made at the place of my choice. Am I smart or what?

So smart! You are right - they are really expensive and not nearly as good as a studio. Good way to save money because how can a picture not be cute when your own child is in it. :)

I think you're brillant! I wish I'd thought of this when my kids were in school.

I was secretly glad that Derek had a big sore under his nose from where he had wiped his nose for two days prior to his preschool picture! I won't be tempted to buy them either.

Let's discuss your brilliance when the picture proofs come in and you see how adorable he is with that marker stain on his face and you end up buying them anyway!
