Farmer's Market

We had a nice Saturday (swam at Granna and Granddad's) and Sunday (church, playing at home). But since this weekend had an extra day off, we wanted to do some kind of fun outing that wouldn't cost much money. Cody had the idea to visit the farmer's market. I had never been. We left around 9 AM and rode the train to downtown. From there it was about a mile walk to the market. The kids loved the train ride. The walk was slightly less fun, but still do-able.

The market was beautiful. So many colors displayed in the forms of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. The kids got lots of free samples. And we brought home some goodies.

Oranges, peaches, collard greens, tomatillos, jalapenos, and peanuts. The roasted peanuts were Nate's idea, and they sure are good. Tonight I will make some roasted tomatillo salsa to go with the fajitas I already had planned.

And now....rest time. Ahhhhhhhhh.
