Fall Favorites

Fall and winter are my favorite times of the year. Here's why:

1. Cooler temperatures bringing relief from the unbearably hot summer.

2. I look much better in winter clothes than summer clothes. I've discovered over the years that the more of my body covered by material, the better. It's a fact. I firmly believe I look skinnier, younger, cuter in long sleeves and jeans.

3. Fall food. Stews, baking, pumpkin, squash, etc. Fall food rocks.

4. Pumpkins. The most beautiful vegetable nature creates. I love all the different shapes and all the shades of orange. The more unusual looking, the better.

5. Football. I am not even a big football fan, but I like having it on in the background while I do other things. I watch it occasionally. I like the dull roar of the crowd in the background. I like cheering for the Longhorns.

6. Holidays. All the best holidays are in the Fall and Winter. Period.

7. Birthdays. All my kids' birthdays are in the winter.

8. Leaves changing colors. The trees are on fire with an amazing array of colors. It often takes my breath away.

9. Tights. On Ava, not me. I think a little girl wearing tights is adorable. How long can they do that before it becomes "un-cool?" Really, I want to know at what age do girls stop wearing those adorable colorful tights with polka dots and flowers, etc. I need to start preparing myself for when it ends.

10. Fires in the fireplace.

The cooler temps are back today after a day in the 90's yesterday. I'm looking forward to highs in the 60's.

I ditto you on everything you just said except that I like to root for the Longhorns. I am more of an Ok State fan myself. :) I love everything about fall and winter as well. There is just something so peaceful and wonderful about them. Probably due to everything you just wrote.

I love fall too, but am a little more skeptical than you I guess. Where in Dallas do you find those beautiful fall colors on the trees???

I love fall and winter! Getting cozy by a fire with hot cocoa and a book is one of the best luxuries in life!
