Under-scheduled

It's less than 2 weeks now until the kids head back to school and I am about ready to declare this summer a success. An extremely hot...success. The thing I am most happy about is that I got to play with these three adorable, interesting, creative, lovable little humans for many many weeks in a row with little to interrupt us. My main goal for summer can be summed up in the idea of "under-scheduling." Swim lessons and a weekly library offering for Ava, which we missed a lot, were about the only things we had on the calendar. We went to the zoo a few times and hit the pool whenever we felt like it (thanks to zoo membership and swim passes) but spent a lot of time at home, too. We had an amazing week at the beach as a family where we did a lot of...nothing. We played in the ocean and sand and hung out lazily in the beach house. We worked a 1000 piece puzzle together. (I'm going to glue that sucker and frame it...any helpful suggestions on how to do that?) We did origami, made bubbles, read books, gardened, visited with lots of friends and family, and basically played most of the days away. I had so much fun spending time with the kids, and I will really miss spending the majority of the day with them when school starts. I'm thankful for lazy summer days and I hope to never take for granted the opportunity I have to spend them with three of the most wonderful people I know.

my brother-in-law has preserved and framed several puzzles. I have no idea how he did it, but I imagine you could just ModPodge over the front for stability, then maybe actually glue it to the frame backing. let us know how you accomplish that task!

I love doing nothing. One of my favorite things, actually. (I've heard of Mod Podge working for puzzles too.)

I've done it before with Mod Podge. Works great!

they sell a glue at craft stores, and i think also at Wal-Mart to do this. we did that with a Grateful Dead poster several years ago and had it framed.
