He's Cute

I finally took pictures of my big, handsome 5 year old! He wasn't too thrilled about the idea at first...
But he warmed up to the idea once I told him the faster he smiled, the faster he could get back inside to play Ninjago.

L captures people's attention with his unusual combination of light blond hair and dark, nearly black, eyes. It's striking. Put that with his sweet little nose and adorable smile, and he's just oozing cute. But he also has a magnetic personality. He is so lively, kind, inquisitive, and interesting. He asks me questions all the time about things that I can't believe he is thinking about! He has asked me if ants can jump (I don't know!), how God can be with every person at the same time, how clouds make rain, and all kinds of stuff I barely have an idea how to answer.

He is also intuitive and expressive when it comes to his feelings and the feelings of others. Just last week, when I took him to the Ash Wednesday service, I was waiting for him to finish eating a sandwich in the car before we went inside. I asked several times if he was done eating, or almost finished, or about ready and finally he replied, "I'm not quite done with my sandwich, but I am going to put it back in the baggie and finish it later because I am feeling like you are really ready to go in now." Busted. That's his mature response to my impatience. I think I learn more from him every day than he learns from me.

Bottom line: I love this kid. He keeps me on my toes, he gives the best cuddles, and sometimes I feel like my heart is going to burst because it can't possibly contain all the joy and love I feel when I look at him.

That is so sweet. What a mature kid. He is such a mixture of both you and Cody. I really see a lot of both of you in that cute boy.
