I love food.
It's a little bit of a problem, actually...because I like to splurge every so often (by that I mean every day, sometimes twice a day) and eat rich, fat-laden morsels of amazing deliciousness. I'm not picky when it comes to how I indulge. I'm a big fan of the chocolate, wine, cheese, and meat food groups.
If I could only narrow my definition of "splurge" to mean once a week or even twice a week I'd be on a much better path toward fitting back into my skinny jeans.
But then things happen like I go to Central Market this afternoon. Suddenly, I've got a ribeye, manchego cheese, shrimp salad, wine, prosciutto, and bread in my cart. Ooops.
Part of the problem is that I feel like as long as I exercise regularly I can eat whatever I want. That worked okay for a while, but then I stopped exercising yet continued with the "eat whatever I want" part of that plan. Ooops, again.
However, I am now back on the wagon as far as regular exercise (boy does it feel good!) and I think I can reign in my food love a tiny bit to find a good healthy balance. I'm not the kind of person who will ever cut out certain foods entirely. But I can stand to limit myself a little bit when it comes to quantity and frequency.
That's a plan I can live with.

I think my most favorite splurge is definitely something sweet, but like you, I really don't discriminate! And I totally agree about never cutting out certain foods entirely...that kind of restrictive lifestyle is not for me.
I forgot to mention the "spinach-artichoke dip food group" which I am also incredibly fond of.
