The Power of Advertising

Since the first time I saw the new coke with lime commercial I've been singing that little tune around the house. You know the one: "You put the lime in the coke, you nut, and drink it all up..." Ava is even starting to pick it up! This is great...my daughter knows the "Alphabet Song", "Jesus Loves Me", and a soda company's version of "Coconut" by Harry Nilsson. Not only am I singing the song, but I have this incredible urge to buy one and try it! I've also begun to notice something when Ava watches her favorite Saturday morning show The Backyardigans. She has asked for things right after seeing a commercial for them on television! She wanted apple juice the other day after she saw an ad for apple juice. I believe she even phrased it, "I NEED apple juice." Thus, it begins.
