Book Recommendation

In search of intellectual fellowship and a night out every once and a while, I recently formed a book club with 5 other women. Our first meeting isn't until the beginning of June (we meet every 2 months), but I think we all have jumped the gun a bit and started, and in my case finished, the chosen book! I'll have to review it closer to our meeting date I guess. If you're looking for a good read try The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. There are plenty of thought-provoking ideas for such a quick and easy read. One of my favorite ideas from the book had to do with what Adam might have thought the first time he went to sleep. He may have thought, "Well, this is it. Life is ending." And then he woke up the next morning surprised to find a brand new day...a fresh start, with somethng to build on: his memory of yesterday. Of course, no one knows what Adam's first experience with sleep was like, or if God had told him all about what to expect. Still, it's interesting to ponder. The point the author was making with this idea is that death is a beginning, not an end. Our entire life is compared to that single first day of Adam. In both cases we "go to sleep" not understanding how we will wake again. Then, we do awake armed with our memory of that first day/our life and realize that the sleep was not an end at all.
