My friend Lindsay told the funniest story over dinner last night. I had mentioned that I was dreading the day that Ava points out someone and loudly asks some offending question like why are they so fat, or what's wrong with their legs, etc. She said that her friend and his son were in the grocery store one day and the boy pointed to a huge man nearby and loudly exclaimed "He is so fat!" The dad steered the cart away embarrassed and told his son that he had really hurt that man's feelings and we don't say those kinds of things, etc. Well, the boy was feeling pretty bad about it and apparently wanted to smooth things over and make everything okay. So, when they found themselves suddenly near that man again in the store the son said sweetly in a loud voice to his dad, "Daddy, I just love fat people."
