Horses and Babies
I was chatting with Cody's aunt over Thanksgiving when she told me a story about the trouble they had weaning a horse recently. They pinned both horses up away from each other, but one of them would always get loose somehow and go to the other. They tried everything they could think of until finally dropping the young horse off at a neighbor's for a couple of months. My immediate thought as I listened was "Maybe I can try that with Nate." He will be a year old on Friday and I've been looking forward to the end of nursing for several months now. We just dropped down from 3 to 2 feedings a day this week. I'm really glad it has lasted a year, but I'm ready to have my body back to myself now after a year and 9 months. I am not sure how long it will take to knock off those last 2 daily feedings. My guess is that he won't be too eager to give them up. I'm willing to give it some time, but I sure hope it doesn't take long. And I have a reward for myself all lined up to celebrate the end of nursing. I'm going to Dillards to buy new bras! I saw an Oprah episode a while back that was all about how 9 out of 10 women are wearing the wrong bra size. It's because we don't get ourselves measured and fitted properly by trained lingerie department workers. Seriously, 9 out of 10 women! That is just horrible. I bet women in general would be a kinder gentler crowd if only their bras were fitting correctly. Think of all those women with pinched shoulders, tight back straps, or shoulder straps constantly sliding off and annoying them. The answer is simple. Go to a department store and get measured. I'm spreading the word.
