I was driving along this morning taking Ava to school when I noticed that the license plate on the car ahead of me began with the numbers 666. I think many people know that the numbers 666 are "evil in some way" although many may not know why. I haven't had it drilled into me that those numbers are evil, but I do know about their mention in Revelation and how in that book they are used to signify imperfection, Satan, anything against God. The number 7 is used for God, so 6 naturally falls short of the number 7. And 666 is emphasizing it...making it a stronger imperfection than just a lone 6.
Even though I don't fear numbers or symbolism, those three 6's do make me feel uncomfortable. I wonder what my reaction would be if I were to open my brand new plates from the state to find that they begin with "666". Frankly, I am not sure I could use them. I don't believe any harm would come to me by using them, but the thought of that number so prominently displayed on my car gives me the creeps and leaves a feeling of disgust in my mind. It would bother me, plain and simple. What about you? Would you be able to use those plates?
