Simple Faith
How do children think? My guess is that they simply enjoy the perks of each day without giving much thought to the dreary worries of life. Ava doesn't have to think about paying bills, maintaining the house, car repairs, broken relationships, etc. She just enjoys whatever is presented to her...the chocolate cake mama baked last night, the hug of her teacher this morning, the stickers she just received in a letter from Granna. She may feel upset sometimes, but she isn't afraid that her world will fall apart. She doesn't have to provide for herself. We take care of her needs. We give her good things. And that is how I want to live, placing myself in the role of child and God as my parent. Why should I worry? I still have things to take care of each day- just like Ava has to clean the play room, but there's someone taking care of me. There's someone to carry me over the steps that are too difficult, tuck me in every night, fill me with a sense of value and let me just rely on them. Maybe that's why God says the Kingdom belongs to those that are like little children.
