Our family spent the weekend on Lake LBJ at the home of my sister-in-law's parents. The kids and I had never even been to a lake before (actually, I had been on Cord's boat once, but it was a long time ago and I don't remember it well), so it was fun getting to experience all kinds of new things. Here are some things that were completely new to me:
1. watching Ava bobbing in the water "swimming" in the middle of a lake
2. watching Lauren surf- she's really awesome at it
3. riding a jet ski- ok, they go really fast, much faster than I had imagined (and we
only went half as fast as we could have because I am a wimp.)
4. laying down at night to sleep and feeling like I am on a boat. whoa.
The weekend was full of friends, family, and really the best food I have eaten in a long time. It was a refreshing time together that our family really needed. We've been caught up in the daily routine a little too long.
