Snack Time
I just crossed over into the land of unfit mothers by giving my children cheetos as their afternoon snack. The health nuts that feed their kids only organic fruit are probably about to call CPS. I don't even usually buy chips, but today I had to take the kids to the grocery store to pick up a few things. As we were cruising the chip isle- looking for PRETZELS, I might add- Ava pointed at the cheetos and lovingly exclaimed, "Oh- my favorite kind!" She didn't even ask for them. She didn't whine or sigh, or stomp her feet. She never suggested that we place them in the basket. It's just the way she looked at them so happily and shared with me that they were her favorite that made me want to get them for her. Sometimes I want to do something out of the blue that tells my kids "I think you're special." Today that thing was surprising Ava by taking the cheetos from the shelf and bringing them home with us. I could tell by her smile then, and now (covered in bright orange cheeto dust) that it made her day.

guess what? they are my favorite too! I just tried the baked cheetos and I couldn't tell the difference. so if it eases your conscience, you can try those next time :)
Tell Ava her Grandad enjoyed Cheetos today, too. They are a favorite of his. And I certainly don't think that makes you on the CPS list of unfit mothers........it's not like you buy them and feed them every day. Ava's little sweet smile and pleasing voice would melt me in a heartbeat! and does!
I guess that means I've been in that land of unfit mothers for quite a while now! :)
