Shaken

The recent events at the small town Colorado school that resulted in the death of a 16 year old girl have me shaken today. The reality of how fragile and unpredictable life is can be a slap in the face. Frankly, if my little girl had been taken hostage and killed because of the random violence of a homicidal maniac, I would be wrestling with hate, anger, and bitterness for the rest of my life. For some reason, I think I could bear an accidental death- though terrible and tragic- easier than the senseless robbing of life because of a purely evil human act. I hope I never have to bear either, and my heart goes out to those parents that do have to bear it.
