Tonight I ate at the kind of place you would never know existed unless someone told you about it. It's in a strip shopping center, and doesn't even face the street. There's a tiny sign that I've driven by a million times and never even noticed. But now that I ate there, I will tell everybody about this quaint and delicious restaurant. The Chocolate Angel is the perfect place to take a girlfriend and sit and chat. Tonight my plate was completely full with a generous portion of absolutely wonderful chicken salad with cranberries sprinkled on top, caesar salad, a pretzel crusted strawberry jello salad with a creamy middle, and the best scone I've ever tasted in my life. I seriously wanted to buy an enormous box of scones to take with me, but I refrained from asking if that was possible since I was there for a business meeting. And, there is the cutest gift shop right next door called BeauCoup. The gift shop is not usually open evenings, but the owner extended her hours tonight so that all the folks there for this business meeting could stop by and browse. Now I know where people get all the cute decorative items I see in homes...at hole in the wall, stuffed to the brim, gift shops like this one. These are the kinds of things you can't find at Target, where I shop. I bought a beautiful heavy wire cookbook stand that has weights for holding the pages flat. Not only will it look so cute, but it's practical too!
So, go to the Chocolate Angel as soon as possible. Really. You will not be sorry. It is at 635 W. Campbell Road in Richardson. It is west of 75, before you get to Floyd Road and on the South side of Campbell. There is a CiCi's pizza in the same shopping center.
