It ain't Santa Fe...

but it was still good!
I am, or course, referring to my birthday trip to Sante Fe, NM last year with Cody to celebrate the big 30. 31 was more low key, but I still had a great time. I actually can't think of a better way to spend it than I did. Even though my actual birthday was yesterday, most of the celebrating occured today. We went to Cody's parents' house for a morning swim and a delicious lunch. My mother-in-law is a VERY good cook. She made something called spaghetti pie. I'd never had anything like it, and I can't wait to make it sometime. She also made a delicious fudgy dessert for me. I even got to blow out candles.

We got home in time to clean the house a little and rest before three couples, very good friends of ours, came over for dinner. We had babysitters watching the kids upstairs. Cody cooked some perfectly seasoned fajita meat (thank you Central Market), and I made my first ever batch of frozen margaritas. They turned out good. After dinner we played pictionary. Unfortunately, the guys won. How they could do that to the birthday girl and still feel good about themselves, I am not sure. It was so nice to relax with friends and have a fun evening together. Thank you to everyone whose cards, emails, phone calls, and presence made my birthday so special.
