Oh this cool weather today has been wonderful! Something happened when the cold air hit me today. It flipped the baking switch. To me, Fall means baking, eating, spending time with loved ones, and did I mention baking? In honor of the first cool weather of the season, I baked two loaves of banana bread, made a delicious chicken pot pie from scratch for dinner, and then baked cookies after dinner. They were chocolate chip. Check out the recipe on the B.A.D. Girls recipe blog. Our recipe blog has all kinds of yummy recipes which are labeled and easy to search.
I've not blogged this weekend because of busy-ness. On Friday night we all went to the State Fair. It was fun, but not as fun as some years past. I think it was a little difficult having three small kids there. Ava spilled an entire cup of lemonade on me also, which dampened (literally) my mood somewhat. But we did eat lots of good food (fried cookie dough and the tried and true corny dogs top the list.) Ava, Nate, and Cody had a blast riding the new gondola ride. (I stayed behind with a sleeping Lucas.) I was glad we went.
Then, Saturday I spent a lot of time getting the kids' rooms switched around. Ava and Nate have shared a room his entire life. Now that Lucas is sleeping at night, I changed it to a girl room and boys' room. I love how Ava's room turned out. It's so delicate, girly, floral, comfortable, sweet, inviting, cozy, fun, and cute! If I say so myself. She loves her new room and that pleases me so much. The quilt on her bed is one I made several years ago, and the one hanging above her bed was made by her great-grandmother.
Now Nate and Lucas share a room and it is a sports theme. Nate likes his new bedding and the twin size bed. That toddler bed was getting mighty small for big ol' Nate who tosses, turns, twists, and sometimes even falls out of bed. I've heard the tell-tale thud many a night. There's still work to be done. I've got to hang some of Nate's artwork on the walls and put up these sports decals I found. Also, Cody's mom is going to make some sports curtains from some fabric I found. It's going to be super-cute. In a rough, tough, manly kind of way.

Way too cute! I really need to re-do my boys' rooms. They are getting too big for the themes they have now.
I love their rooms! You did such a good job! Glad y'all had a good time at the fair. Caleb has gone both years since he's been around, and he loves it already! :)
The rooms look great! No wonder the kids love them. Good job.
The kids rooms are too cute. My friend Annalee Luttrell, her parents are Lynn and Sherri and they go to Hillcrest. Lynn's parents Bill and Hazanne also live there. Does this help???
The rooms look great! I can't wait to fix up big kid rooms for my crew someday!
Just reading the comments to this post. The Luttrells are good friends of all the Campbells in Abilene. Liz and Lynn are good friends (think they teach together at ACU) and also Bill and Hazanne are good friends of Mary Jo. I think Hazanne helped with the baby shower for Cody when I was going to Hillcrest when Don was in Thailand. just thought I'd throw that into the mix of whatever that was about!
So cute Becky! I totall love Ava's room so much. I love the boys too but I am girl mode since I have a girl. I love the built ins she has I wish I could get some in Kimbo's room. I just love what you have done. You are so talented!
Is there anything you can't do? I can't believe you made the quilt! I love quilts. I have a special one in my guest room that some ladies at church made and gave me as a wedding present. They just always have so much unique character. Your kids are blessed to have such a talented and loving mom!
I love the rooms. They are great! Have you always known how to quilt? (I love quilts....)
Love the rooms! I can't wait to see the finished boys' room. Ava's is precious! Very sweet and girlie!!! LOVE the quilts! I really need to finish Emma's room... she's been waiting a year and a half now!
