The Moment You've Been Waiting For

It's finally time to reveal the number 1 Pumpkin Patch Photo in my top 5 countdown. I have really enjoyed going back through my many photos, reminiscing about Octobers past, and seeing my adorable children as they have grown through the years. It may seem that I've been playing favorites. I do have more than one child, but so far all of my favorite photos have been of Ava. There's a good reason for that. Nate just doesn't sit still for more than a milisecond at a time, and he almost never looks at the camera. That makes for nearly impossible picture taking on my part. His shots are mostly action. I catch him as he is turning away, grabbing at pumpkins, or flapping his arms. But, it's because of his constant motion that I was able to capture, quite accidentally, this little beauty. When I first saw this picture I laughed until I almost wet my pants. Everything about it is perfect. Look at the scowl on his little face! It was taken in October 2005 when he was 10 months old. Shortly after, I began playing Fantasy Basketball. In a moment of inspiration, I named my team the "Mean Babies," and adopted this photo as my mascot. I will never, ever get tired of looking at this photo. It's a one in a million shot.

That is the greatest picture ever! It makes me laugh every time I see it too! Now I can look back at this post in the future when I need a good laugh! Thanks Becky!

Ah, cute little innocent Nate! I love this picture and if you really stop and think about it - how crazy is it that you actually caught this moment in time on film? He's going to love this when he gets older!

I have loved your entire countdown! I'm so glad you did it! I can't wait to see pics from this year's trip to the pumpkin patch! In fact, I can't wait to take my own kids, if they ever quit being so runny and coughy and we actually get to leave the house.

Is he or is he not "shooting a bird"? Or is it "flipping a bird"? It's so hard to keep up..
