Yes, the feast turned out well on Saturday. Except for the deviled eggs, that is. I think I had a bad recipe. I had never made them before, so I pulled out my America's Test Kitchen Cookbook which has never let me down before. There's a first time for everything. I really tried to salvage them, but in the end they went in the trash. Everything else was delicious though.
We all got dressed in our new Easter clothes this morning and headed to church. I love the spirit of fellowship and love on Sunday mornings with our "family" at church, and on Easter Sunday that feeling is magnified in a special way. I didn't take very many photos because it was really cold outside this morning. Here is the best group shot, although I realized later it would have been nice sans paci.
Then I snapped this photo of Ava as she grasped her sweater and turned because of the chilly wind. I don't know why, but I absolutely love this picture. So I played around with it a little and spiced it up. I think my daughter is beautiful. Gorgeous. Adorable. I feel this way about all my kids, but I think it is especially important for me to tell her how beautiful she is because if she is a normal girl, she'll be attacked with self-doubt at some point. I want her to feel secure that she is beautiful inside and out because God created her and blessed her with the unique beauty that an artist breathes into his work.
After church, our family high-tailed it to a professional basketball game. A highly non-traditional Easter activity. By far, the kids' favorite part was the Frisbee dog half-time show. The second favorite part was the dancers. I think they sort of liked the actual basketball playing, too. Lucas was sort of wiggly, but then he took a long nap in my arms. It was a fun afternoon.

We thought Ava had posed for that side shot maybe to show off her bow! It is a great pic, tho. The kids all looked so cute and it seems they did not miss the egg hunt with the bb game. The lunch on Saturday was yummy and thanks for sending home leftovers. The carrot cake did not last long at all!
That's such a great picture of the kids - even with the paci! We had tickets to the game yesterday too but ended up giving them away because we had family stuff to do. Glad you guys had fun!
I love the pictures!!! Your children are beautiful! I loved Ava in that bright pink - definitely her color! Easter morning is especially fun, isn't it? Sounds like your Easter was a fun day and your Easter meal was great also! It was wonderful seeing your family yesterday!
I love Easter also. It is such a refreshing day - as it should be. Your kids looked great. I love the side shot of Ava - she is a beautiful girl for sure. Inside and out.
I agree Becky. Ava is beautiful. I think She looks a lot like you.
