I did something tonight I have never done before...
I threw away a book.
I bought it for only 50 cents at a book sale because I thought it looked pretty good based on what little I read on the cover. It was called Spiritual Parenting. Tonight, I picked it up and started to thumb through it. I was met constantly with paragraph upon paragraph of some of the dumbest stuff I have ever read. I was completely turned off. I can't even say what exactly it was I hated so much about it, but it gave off this horrible vibe. So I tossed it in the trash. I would have thrown it away even if I had paid more than 50 cents because I wouldn't pass it on to anyone for sure. Not even to Goodwill. Now here is the weird thing. After I threw it away I looked it up on Amazon, convinced I would find countless poor reviews. But, it had 5 stars! There were only 5 reviews, but all 5 had loved it. I'm surprised. I have to really hate a book to even consider throwing it away. At first I thought, maybe it wasn't that bad. Maybe I am in a strange mood tonight and made a mistake. But then I recalled a few of the things I had read and realized that I was not mistaken. It was awful.
Has anyone else ever thrown a book away?

I've never thrown a book away but I would. Actually I would recycle the paper. Maybe that could be its one redeeming trait, helping save the environment.
Yes - I threw away a Judy Blume book. It was one of her "adult" books that was just too trashy to take. I used to love her teenage books when I was a girl, so I was so disappointed when I stumbled across this book.
I think I have although I don't remember what it was. Probably a book for school that I was forced to read and hated.
