The Big Move

I'm sitting here surrounded by boxes. In the calm of the cool, dark morning it's almost hard to imagine the bustle that will soon take place over the next 48 hours. It's moving time! I can't believe the day is finally here. Today we'll do lots of pre-moving stuff, and tomorrow friends will come help move boxes and furniture.

My main concern in packing has not been wrapping the breakables carefully, getting the maximum use from each box, or even labeling contents accurately. No, my main concern has been to not lose the children's Halloween costumes. They will need those Sunday night for Trunk or Treat. The way their eyes light up when they talk about being Spiderman, or a kitty...well, I can't afford to crush their dreams. So those costumes are being carefully kept aside.

Sometime today our internet is going to get turned off, and they can't turn it on at our new house until November 4. I know, it's crazy. So I'll be checking email on Cody's iphone but otherwise MIA.

I've got to take a moment to say I just love our new house. I can't wait to get set up in it and start having people over. We have always enjoyed having people over to our house, I mean we really love it. It is one of our absolute favorite activities. And the house doesn't make a difference, I realize that, but I just envision this warm, cozy, beautiful environment that I can open up to my family and friends. And it's all going to start with Thanksgiving this year. My dream for so many years has been to host Thanksgiving, and it is finally coming true!

This might be my last post for a couple of weeks. But I'll be back...with photos of our move and of our new home.

Congratulations, Cody and Becky! I hope your move goes quickly and smoothly. We may be dropping by some time during the holidays...I look forward to seeing the house and how you've made it a home! Oh, and sorry to hear about Jingles. We love y'all!

Congratulations on the move! I hope it goes well. We'll be in Abilene Saturday so Michael won't be able to help move. :(

The best part of your new house will be that it continues to be a place where Joshua 24:15 rules. May the Lord indeed give you an Epehesians 3:20 blessing in your new home!

I am looking forward to Ava's version of the move. We love hearing her stories on Sunday night. Hope it goes smoothly and you don't lose anything else for too long... I was on a business trip until the day before our move so my husband and my kids ( ages 10, 12 and 14) at the time had to pack. I didn't find lot of things for a long time.....But at least I didn't have to pack!
