I was in the kitchen washing dishes this morning when I heard a noisy commotion in the front yard. It sounded like lots of birds making a ton of racket. Then, I thought I heard a bang on the front door. I decided to take a peek just to see if there was something going on out there. What I least expected to see, was a small owl perched on our mailbox. I thought I saw some shape sitting on our mailbox through the sheer curtains. When I pulled them aside, I gasped. I am not sure if the presence of the owl and the commotion I had heard was related or not. But it sure was a strange site. It sat there a long time. Long enough for me to grab my camera, snap some pictures, and show it to the boys. Then, he just flew off.

Doesn't that have some kind of Harry Potter connection? Don't the owls deliver the mail or something?
You are totally right Cody! You have a message. That is so cool. Glad you were able to take some pictures.
Oh my goodness. That would have been so cool to see. Who would have thought there were urban owls that you take their picture?
Do you remember that owl we surprised feasting in the road that night during college? It spread its wings and lit up like a ghost in the headlights and scared us to death!
I believe that it was an Eastern Screech Owl. How cool is that? I love owls!
