Love This Pie

To celebrate Ava's first day of school yesterday, I made a special dinner. We had grilled pork, broccoli, and cooked cinnamon apples. And for dessert, I made this lovely cherry cream cheese pie.
Making this pie had me in a nostalgic state because my grandma used to make it for me when I was a girl. It was one of my favorites. So usually when I came to visit I got this pie, along with my other favorites: Swiss steak, potato soup and fried okra. I can make potato soup and cherry cream cheese pie to where they taste just like the ones my grandma made. Unfortunately, though I had watched her and even taken notes, I never could replicate the Swiss steak or fried okra. They just don't quite taste like hers did.

Want to make this pie? Head over to the Bad Girls Book Club Recipe Blog because I posted the recipe. It's easy and extremely rich!

I was in my 20's before I knew other pies existed :-) as this was the standard pie at my house growing up! Yummy stuff! I never make it because Steve won't eat cream cheese, but Ina Morgan made it last month for our Bunco group and I relived the memories :-)
