New Favorite

My new favorite store is Ann Taylor Loft. I used to love JJill, but last night when I looked in the JJill store I didn't see a single thing that interested me. Across the way in Loft, however, all kinds of stuff started jumping into my arms and before I knew it, I was in the dressing room with a dozen garments. One of the highlights of my shopping experience was realizing I had guessed wrongly about what size I needed and having to go back to get the next smaller size. (I had never been to Loft before, so I had to figure out what size I am in their clothes. I was quite happy with the number that turned out to be.)

There was a storewide sale of 40% off everything, so I really stocked up. I got a pair of casual pants, black dress pants, dressy jeans type pants, a cute brown linen skirt, a gorgeous sweater tank, and a stunning rose colored sleeveless dress. I wouldn't normally buy so much at once, but I've got to be honest about my clothes "situation." I have had hardly anything that fits me for about 6 months and am having to replace just about everything in my closet since I lost weight running. That is a blessing and curse all at once. It's nice to have a valid reason to buy new clothes, but it's a. expensive and b. hard to get rid of some favorites that just don't fit anymore. I'm hoping to stay my new size for a long time so I don't have to go through this again anytime soon. I mean, I've fluctuated before, especially over the course of 3 pregnancies, but I've never lost this many inches. There's no way to make things work when they are literally falling off, or when safety pinning it means gathering a fistful of material.

Cody was so sweet while I shopped. He was happy to sit around and wait for me while browsing the web on the iphone. In fact, it was his idea to go to the mall last night, and he encouraged me to try on a bunch of things. We had gone out earlier to Texas Land and Cattle for "Thirsty Thursday." I am not sure how many people know about this amazing deal, but on Thursdays from 5 PM to close that restaurant has a huge special. If you sit in the bar area (there are booths just like on the eating side of the place) you can have $2 drinks and half price appetizers! They have great appetizers, too. The fried jalepenos were especially delicious. I can't wait to go back for more.

LOFT is a favorite of mine too. I really love their trouser jeans.
