Genius (On So Many Levels)

I love the classic Perry Como song Catch A Falling Star. I was singing it to Ava tonight when suddenly I wondered if there was a rock version somewhere out there I could listen to while jogging.

I typed in a query to Google and before I knew it, this Youtube video of the rock version by Adam and the Ants popped up, and it is one of the coolest songs I have ever heard in my life. I mean, it's musical genius! The way this guy covered this song is perfect. The underlying beat that stays almost the same as the original Como version (except with added funk) plus the intermittent short phrases that totally rock out hard are absolutely fabulous.

Listen!

But the sad thing was this song is not available on iTunes. In fact, this song is very hard to get even in hard copy.

My dreams of running to it were looking slim until I stumbled upon a second genius thing...a website called Listen to YouTube.com. This is hard to believe, but all one has to do is paste in the URL address for a Youtube video and this website extracts the audio and immediately downloads it as an MP3 into iTunes. It takes about 30 seconds and it sounds exactly like the original source. I was blown away.

Now i have my own copy of this crazy good song sitting in iTunes, ready to add to my jogging playlist!

man, thank you for posting that website! When I was in France I got hooked on this popular French song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiHWwKC8WjU but you can only buy it on French iTunes. I've been scheming ways to get this song on my iPod but you solved that for me!
