Da Vinci Part Two

Okay, so now I am about half way through the book and I can see why the Catholic Church for sure was upset by this book. It makes some pretty bold claims about the non-deity of Christ, the cover up by the Catholic Church, etc. However, let me remind everyone that this author, while knowing how to spin a great tale, is full of baloney. There are so many gaping holes in his theories about Christ being married to Mary Magdalene, about how the Bible came to be organized (the canon of Scripture), about the beliefs of the early Christians, about the role of the Catholic Church, etc. He might have taken one or two very small truths and spun them into a extended web of conspiracy that simply doesn't exisit. Seriously, I hope no one reads the book thinking that the author is spewing out facts, because they are not facts. I remember a tv special a few months back regarding the claims made in the Da Vinci Code. At the time I didn't know what the deal was since I had not read the book, but I do remember this: Every scholar and expert they had on the show seemed to strongly disagree that the notions put forth in the book could be anywhere even close to the truth. There is a line in the book that stands out to me: "Everyone loves a conspiracy theory." Mr. Brown simply knows how to sell books. He knows what people are interested in as he clearly states in that line.
