The History Detectives show on PBS is one of our favorites. Four historians/appraisers seek out the truth about various items and places. There are about 3 different segments per hour long show, and we always learn a few neat facts about some of the strangest topics. I've always found history interesting. And, I was raised on Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. So put the two together, and Bam! it's a hit! It also suits my short attention span since they wrap up what must have been extremely long investigations into short and sweet results. In the show, they pour over thousand page books for about 10 seconds before magically arriving at the one sentence that either confirms or denies a particular story of an object. I always secretly wonder how many interns spent days sifting through that material so one of the four hosts can whip it out for the camera.
It's on Mondays at 8 PM central.
