Clutter
I really dislike clutter. It's amazing how fast it piles up all over the house, even when I feel determined to avoid it. Piles of mail, toys, CD cases, you name it. There is a closet under our stairwell that I would love to keep clean and organized. It has always been my goal, and I have always fallen short. Occasionally I attack the closet with renewed vigor. I clear everything out. I trash some things, give things away, and neatly organize what remains. This small haven of organization lasts only a few weeks until being replaced by a disheveled leaning pile. I can't get to anything I need in there and my stomach sinks at the thought of having to even try. Why can't I keep one simple closet neat? And don't even get me started about our garage. You know how sometimes kitchens have a junk drawer for tossing all sorts of things into? Well, our garage is the kitchen drawer of our home. One day we'll work up enough nerve to face the garage, but it hasn't happened yet. I am proud, however, of the fact that we can at least park one car in our two car garage which is more than many people can say I think. Garage-organization seems to be a blight on our country as a whole, just judging by the ones I happen to glimpse into when driving around our neighborhood. This is one reason I like moving...one of the few reasons I like moving. It forces a giant purge and reorganization. Since we don't plan a move anytime soon, I guess I'll have to find some other source of motivation.

well......at least you didn't mention your mother-in-law's horrific cluttered-throw-everything-in-there closet! cc
I had that same issue with clutter. We decided to have a yard sell to get rid of some of our clutter. We managed to make over $200 in a matter of a few hours. That was motivation for me to do it again some time.
