First Day

Ava and Nate started preschool today. Once they hit their classroom doors, neither even turned back to say bye. Nate only has eyes for Woody, the class guinea pig. And Ava's room has a loft with a ladder. What mother can compete?

After school we picked up a celebratory lunch from Sonic. Then, my two children whom I assumed would be exhausted from their first day of school, both decided to skip naps. I think they were still too wound up! So, we drew thank you pictures to mail to Aunt Carolyn since she was the one that sent us the Sonic card. Nate has gotten really good at writing his name, all except for the "E." The "E" always has some kind of problem, and today the problem was that it had 4 lines instead of 3. In his sweet little perfectionist eyes this was a colossal mistake. Many, many tears were shed until I finally grabbed some white out and removed one of the lines. He wasn't completely satisfied, but at least he stopped screaming about it. I think he might be a little bit "type A."

So glad they had a good first day! And good ol' Woody survived another summer. You never know...

What did you do with yourself all morning?

And how do I change my identity to 'carolyn' instead of 'carolyn mcbryde'?
