Sugar Kiss Melon

It looks like a cantaloupe.

But let me assure you...it's not a cantaloupe.

Cantaloupes are good.  Especially sweet cantaloupes are fantastic.  But a Sugar Kiss Melon is better than I ever imagined possible.  I'm ranking it up there with Medjool dates as one of the best fruits God ever created.

I bought one on a lark while browsing Central Market yesterday and boy am I glad I did.  I'll be getting them every chance I have now because tasting one of these is like sampling Heaven.

I did a little research online and found that you can actually serve these melons with a bit of prosciutto and basil leaf for an out of this world appetizer.  They are amazing on their own, but that combination sounds great to me.  I can't wait to try it!

I know what you're thinking.  It looks like an ordinary cantaloupe, big deal.  It IS a BIG deal.  I want to reach through the computer screen, grab everyone by the collar and demand that they try a Sugar Kiss Melon as soon as possible.  Yes, I probably need some sort of medication if fruit can excite me this much...I know it's crazy, but it's just that good.

Trust me on this, ok?

You are so right about the Sugar Kiss Melons. I bought two today at H.E.B. My family and I ate them both, which led to me driving back to the store immediately to get three more before they ran out of them. Best fruit that I have ever tasted!

Me too! I sampled one at H.E.B. and bought two. I ate a whole one by myself! If you need medication, I do too! A week later went back and bought two more hoping for the same sweetness. And to my surprise, they were! Wow! Definitely a taste of Heaven. I was praising God for creating it! Brought some to work and HAD to share! Wonder if I can grow my own?

I had my first-ever Sugar Kiss melon early this year and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I have loved cantaloupe all my life and had never heard of a sugar kiss melon until early 2016. One got mixed in among the regular cantaloupe my wife bought one day and upon trying it I was utterly astounded how good it was - it was better than just good. It was beyond delicious. The next day I went back to the grocery store and purchased more of them to enjoy. I can't believe I've been wasting my money buying regular cantaloupe because most of the time they're virtually tasteless and leave me disappointed. Sugar Kiss melons are what I call "nature's candy" and as long as they're in season I keep several on-hand to enjoy. Sadly they just went out of season, so I'll have to wait until they come back before I can experience their delicious flavor again. I'm a lifelong customer of them now :)

Picked up one of these at Sam's Club in Hendersonville, NC. We got the last 2 in the bin. The BEST cantaloupe I have EVER tasted!!! None ever made it to the refrigerator. LOL... Why have I wasted my money on all the tasteless versions from the local product stands all these years??? Wish I had been able to enjoy them all summer. Can't wait for them to come back in season. Wish I had been smart enough to save the seeds...

I'm an avid gardner and my go to cantaloupe every year is Ambrosia. I've never had another melon so sweet, so vigorous, so disease resistant, and so productive as Ambrosia. Talking the other day with my 96 year old mother on the phone, she said a friend shared a Sugar Kiss melon with her and it was the sweetest melon she had ever eaten. And she's 96, a lot of years to test melons out. So I've been trying to fnd where I can buy a packet of Sugar Kiss seeds. No where can I find it for sale. Sandstone must be very protective so as to keep their market. Any idea where I can get Sugar Kiss seed?

I purchased one today! I washed and placed the whole Sugar Kiss melons in the refrigerator for 30 mins. Then I sliced and removed the seeds. I never tasted a melon so naturally sweet! Just a wonderful fresh taste! My husband loved the softness.

I just found out also by chance a few months ago! After almost not being able to get again I started saving the seeds to plant a crop for myself! They are so so yummy! Like all have said a taste of heaven! We just found watermelon like this grown by a local farmer and started buying a trailer load and selling! Everyone was always sceptacle when we told them they were the sweetest watermelons they would ever eat! Had many return for more! It has been a lifetime for me to have sweet melons like this! Thanks to who or whomever created this species! LoL

Had to add my 2 cents on the Greatest Fruit EVER! Just moved to SW FL and thought it was native to here, but went on a sugar kiss melon website and found they are grown in Yuma, AZ. If sweet tooth fans want to have a "healthy" sweet treat, you MUST TRY a sugar kiss melon. Hard to believe something this sweet & delicious is au naturelle. FANTASTIC.

We get them at Walmart during the July and August months. Best fruit I have ever had. Although I agree with some of the ways it is described, I personally compare it to the taste of a very sweet cantaloupe, and the juicyness of watetmelon as it bursts into liwuid immediately after chewing.

Best fruit I have ever had. I would compare it to the taste of a very sweet cantaloupe with the juicyness of a watermelon. As it explodes into liquid immediately after chewing. They are available at my Walmart in the July and August months but We only get in like 2 cases of 10 a week. Good Hunting

We just love the Sugar Kiss melons. How many calories are in them? It seems I am gaining weight after I started eating them. Please send me an answer.

If the Sugar Kiss is a Hybrid, probably is..You waste your time saving and growing from the seed. You will probably get 101 different melons and not one will give you what you are expecting. I saw seed on Ebay. I am afraid it is just a thief taking advantage of hopeful folks with a cantaloupe. If it was the real deal it would be from a major seed house such as Burpee. Don't believe that the $25/50 seeds is true. You won't know until it is too late to get your money back. Hope to really buy the seed soon though....

Sugar Kiss melon is the BEST

Ok guy's if you plant the seeds it is almost certain that you will not get the same fruit since it is a hybrid lol... and yes it is exclusive to Sandstorm. You will not be able to find seeds either for sale anywhere. Hate to disappoint everyone. That said Sugar Kiss is one of the best melons I have ever tasted in my life and I grow melons in a research center in California where we do variety trials. My former employer grows the Sugar Kiss melon for Sandstorm so I get to eat as many as I can handle every year. If you haven't had one yet then try one as soon as you can. Quick little story about them.. for labor day weekend I went up to the university I work for and took some melons to some friends and they were shocked at how good these guy's tasted. One of my friends sends me a text during the following week saying that he had shared one of the melons with his friend and that she almost cried after she tasted it lol..
